Coach "Ray"

Meet Owner - "Coach Ray"

As the Owner-Head Coach here at Romero Boxing Club, I am dedicated to creating an environment that allows every member to experience a true Boxing Club. I believe that Boxing is the ultimate challenge (either to just train or compete) it is a vessel that creates Champions in the ring and in life. I want everyone to grow as they discover empowerment to protect themselves, athleticism through hard work and see the results from their dedication.

I raised my family in Roseville and volunteered as a Coach over the past 20 years in many sports such as Baseball, Football, Wrestling and enjoyed every minute of it. As a Coach, there is so much truth to the fact that we impact lives when we do it right and my philosophy is to promote confidence and raise the level of every athlete in a positive environment where they can strive.

I am also a dedicated father to 3 sons and husband to my wife of 22 years. We enjoy our time together and our Doodle Donner.

Experience:

I have over 30 years of Experience in the sport of boxing from competing to Coaching. I competed in over 60 USA Amateur bouts. I'm currently a USA Boxing Bronze Level certified Coach and have coached at the highest level in the Country. In addition to Boxing, I'm a first degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at Ares Roseville and have been an Instructor there for seven years.

My coaching style is to keep it simple and build a strong foundation of basics and fundamentals, which will lead you to success as you advance into competition or remain a hobbyist, the basics will remain with you forever.
